This EP is dedicated to my mom. "Starshine" is a nickname that she has for me, which I heard (quite loudly) almost every morning when I was in high school. When I first wrote these songs I mentioned them to her and she was immediately supportive. She's always been supportive of me releasing new music.

The instruments and synths in each song all come from one sample each (with an added 808 snare drum and bass drum). The names are related in some way to the object I sampled. Here's the list of samples:

- Dreaming of Turquoise: Flicking a glass
- Dozing Off in a Tin Can: Flicking a tin almond can
- Did Someone Ring the Doorbell?: My grandmother ringing her doorbell
- Captain Jack Will Get You By Tonight: Hitting a bottle of Jack Daniels
